Rhianon and Colby celebrated their union on a lovely September day in the coastal town of Bremen, Maine.
Where to begin with this charming, sweet wedding? Just north of Boothbay, Bremen is a delightfully small-town situated on Maine’s rocky coast. At Rhianon’s grandmothers home where Rhianon spent so much of her childhood, this sacred place was a perfect location for the wedding and also has the distinction of being the location of her parent’s wedding 31 years earlier. Rhianon and Colby wanted their day to reflect the nature of their relationship: sincere, true, authentic, and beautiful – mission accomplished.
We began the day as Rhi was gathered with her bridesmaids and family putting on finishing touches for the day ahead. Likewise, the gentlemen were dressing and straightening their ties making final preparations. Remembering back on this day, both Rhi and Colby recall their First Look clearly. Rhi greeted Colby on a long dock overlooking the water. It’s no secret Heirloom Pictures loves capturing these quiet moments as they are uniquely poignant and momentous to the couple and it’s a privilege to be able to capture it.
The backdrop for the wedding ceremony was the coastal landscape on the property just off to the side of the house. Lifelong vows were exchanged in front of family and friends as they became husband and wife…serenaded by a music performance by family and sealed with a spectacular kiss and lavender toss! As the day progressed, guests moved under the tent to celebrate alongside the newlyweds. From a stunning first dance and parent dances to heartfelt toasts, dinner and dancing, Rhi and Colby enjoyed every second of this day soaking it all in. They are excited to share these highlights with some friends and family who were unable to attend especially Rhi’s grandmother, Ann and Colby’s great-grandfather, Bo. Thank you to Rhianon and Colby for having us there; Heirloom Pictures was honored to be a part of your day. We hope you enjoy!
