Kaori + John ~ An enchanting May Wedding at the Boston Public Library from Heirloom Pictures on Vimeo.
An Enchanting May Wedding at the Boston Public Library
Kaori and John were married on an early spring day nestled in the heart of historic downtown Boston. The couple wanted to incorporate a garden-like feel within the walls of the preeminent Boston Public Library – to create the most memorable moments as they blend their traditions & loved ones for a once in a lifetime day.
Their first look took place on the grand marble stairs outside of Bates Hall; capturing this very precious moment is always one of our most favorite parts of the day to be able to witness! We made our way to the iconic Courtyard where the ceremony was to take place after grabbing a few formal photos with the entire wedding party. Not to be outshined, Olive, the couple’s beloved collie (with her own social media following!), was ready to celebrate alongside and join in the festivities.
The ceremony was personal and heartfelt, full of raw emotion. One of their favorite parts was when John placed a daffodil in Kaori’s bouquet as a way to honor John’s mother. The afternoon progressed into Bates Hall for the reception where an almost magical atmosphere was created by the all-star team of vendors assembled by the couple. Surrounded by gorgeous spring blossoms, delicate touches of pink and timeless style, this wedding was truly picture perfect. Toasts and dinner progressed into dessert and dancing as Kaori and John enjoyed every second of this night. Heirloom Pictures was thrilled to capture this spectacular occasion and we are so happy to share their highlights with you!
Thank you so much to the entire team of vendors that worked to create this day.

Exquisite Maine Elegance at Hidden Pond Kennebunkport
Dustin and Mallory were married on a fall day in Maine at beautiful Kennebunkport. These two met thanks in part to their love of vizslas as well as some friends nudging this love connection along. Their romance led to an impromptu trip to Maine where they fell in love with Hidden Pond, in particular, Earth – the onsite restaurant. They adored its blend of ease and intimacy. It was this trip that planted the seeds for the wedding to come.
It’s easy to see why they fell for Hidden Pond. The grounds are lush and full of gardens and lovely greenery; rustic elegance in every corner. Preparations for the day were well underway with ladies helping Mallory with dressing and her final details. Her dress was stunning with an equally gorgeous full bouquet. The gentlemen gathered together as well, enjoying good conversation and laughs while straightening ties and pinning flowers.
Feeling both intimate and warm, the ceremony was a balance of organic elements and touches of woodsy whimsy. With lanterns lining the aisle and under a draped floral archway, the bride and groom exchanged their vows in front of their loved ones. It’s not a surprise that these self-described ‘bourbon loving southerners’ know how to celebrate. Wooden tables laden with thick greenery and full blossoms complemented the elegant and romantic atmosphere. Surrounded by amazing food and a phenomenal dance band, Mallory was right, ‘black-tie doesn’t mean boring’! This tightknit group sure knew how to celebrate enjoying every last second with the newlyweds. We hope you enjoy their highlights as much as we did capturing them!
Thanks so much to David Murray for the lovely cover photo!

Whimsical Garden Wedding in Southern Massachusetts
Sam and Enrique’s late summer wedding at their family’s home in southern Massachusetts was a splendid example of New England charm and easy elegance. A picture perfect setting at Samantha’s family home in South Dartmouth; full of abundant and expansive gardens and long grasses on a sprawling property. We began the day as the finishing touches and final preparations were underway. Inside the house, the bride was excitedly getting ready for the First Look and Ketubah signing. With a lovely lace detailed dress and a bouquet brimming with flowers, Samantha greeted her sharply dressed groom as they shared a private moment of joy. After the First Look, the couple took some time to stroll the property and take the significance of the day in.
Thoughtful details greeted guests – family photos attached to a tree in the yard – making for a unique ‘family tree’, handmade wooden signs, a lavish aisle ready for dried flower petal confetti and, of course, the family Buick on display courtesy of Sam’s grandfather. The chuppah, a lovely pergola swathed with lightweight fabric and lush greenery, made for a grand backdrop for Sam and Enrique to take lifelong vows. The rabbi sang beautifully as the bride and groom completed their traditional Jewish oaths. One of the bride’s favorite moments was being wrapped in the talit while she and Enrique looked at each other.
Under the tent, the romance and garden whimsy continued with soft accent lighting and centerpieces full of natural, unfussy florals – each table adorned by dahlias grown by Sam’s father. The dancefloor was consumed with a rousing horah and guest rejoicing alongside the newlyweds; the absolute joy on their faces says it all. In the end, the evening was full of tender moments, big smiles and lots of homegrown fun. Heirloom Pictures is thrilled to present to you Samantha and Enrique’s highlights – mazel tov!

Quintessential Boston Wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel
One thing was clear when it came to Lisa and Joey’s wedding – they love Boston. After all, it’s the city they fell in love and started their life together in so selecting the perfect locale to celebrate made the Fairmont Copley Plaza an easy decision. We joined these two love birds as they were putting on their finishing touches just before the highly anticipated First Look.
It’s also clear why their First Look was a favorite moment of theirs from the day. Lisa remembered, “having that moment as a couple really solidified the rest of an amazing day.” It always feels like such a privilege to witness this one remarkable and tender moment. And how fun that they got to share it with some passers by!
The ceremony was held at the beautiful Saint Cecilia’s Chapel nearby. Lifelong and heartfelt vows were spoken and Lisa’s brother, Greggory, sang a stunning rendition of Ave Maria. Heading back to the Fairmont, an easy and fun atmosphere was widespread as the reception progressed from cocktails to dinner. The details of the evening matched the newlyweds lighthearted and effortless style. Romantic lighting, lovely lush flowers and of course, no shortage of Boston love everywhere you looked. Capping the festivities was a packed dance floor bursting with folks of all ages celebrating alongside these cuties. Heirloom Pictures is so happy to share with you Lisa and Joey’s wedding day highlights. Thank you for including us in this day- it was indeed a GREAT day. We know they are excited to relive their day again with their nearest dearest.

An Intimate Boston Wedding at Alden Castle
Kaylyn and Jarrid were married on a bright New England day at Alden Castle in Brookline. Getting ready at Hotel Commonwealth was a big part of the day. Kaylyn was excited to have a beautifully decorated private loft with sunlight pouring in as the backdrop for all the ladies to prepare. Jarrids room was filled with Red Sox memorabilia and their first look was just steps away from overlooking Fenway.
The most memorable part of the day was the ceremony. Kaylyn and Jarrid wrote their own sweet vows to each other. The ceremony was also conducted by Kaylyns brother which meant a lot to the couple.
Alden Castle was the perfect romantic setting for Kaylyn and Jarrid to celebrate. With the decor featuring photos of generations of parents and grand parents on their wedding days this set the stage for a gathering that was all about family and friends. Gold and pink hues as well as candle light created a warm and cozy atmosphere that included heartfelt toasts, champagne and delicious foo!
Congratulations Kaylyn and Jarrid on your wedding!

Classic Cape Cod Wedding at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club
Liana and Mike were married on a summer day in August at the Wequasset Resort in Cape Cod. Liana’s fond memories of her time there made selecting Cape Cod an easy first choice. The Wequasset Resort is quintessential Cape Cod nestled in the elbow of the Cape with sweeping water views. Of most importance, Liana and Mike were thrilled to celebrate with their friends and family – some of whom haven’t had the chance to experience the beauty of the Cape.
The details of the day involve many elegant nautical elements that lend themselves perfectly to this setting. From the lush bouquets to the beautiful ceremony arbor and the gorgeous summer hydrangeas and the gentle hints of blue, each aspect felt timeless and easy. The day was full of heartfelt speeches and endearing moments of celebration – ending with a packed dance floor! We are thrilled to share Liana and Mike’s highlights – please enjoy.

Sweet Summer Wedding at the Four Seasons Boston
Karen and Howie were wed on a beautiful summer day in August at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.
Karen and Howie imagined their day to be comfortable with lots of love and kindness with a natural, easy feel. When they visited the Four Seasons, they fell in love with it’s stunning but unfussy ballroom. Most importantly, though, Karen could perfectly envision her walk down the aisle to her husband to be, Howie. We joined Karen and Howie as they were getting ready for their anticipated First Look. Karen was dressing with her bridesmaids and family with some final touches. Her beautiful wedding gown was complemented with a simple veil and a mixed bouquet of summer flowers. The gentlemen were prepping as well with the groom straightening ties and having plenty of laughs. The First Look took place on the balcony at the Four Season which overlooks the Boston Public Garden. Capturing this tender moment is always precious and these two were no different – we always fight back tears! Their Jewish ceremony took place in the main ballroom under a chuppah that was effortless and dreamy. Karen likes to remember many special moments but her most favorite is when they exchanged their personalized vows with their nearest and dearest watching.
Karen and Howie assembled a top-notch team of design vendors who created a warm, inviting atmosphere that felt very Karen and Howie. Romantic lighting by the experts at Suzanne B Lowell Lighting pin-spotted the lush, full, floral centerpieces by Artistic Blossoms – a timeless design that echoed the easiness and sweetness of this couple. Dinner and toasts made way for desserts and dancing making for an evening of smiles and celebrating! Congratulations again, Karen and Howie! We absolutely loved capturing this day with you and am so excited to share these highlights with their loved ones.

Sweet Seacoast Wedding in Rye New Hampshire
Karen and Corey were married on a July day in New Hampshire at the Rye Harbor State Park. When Karen and Corey envisioned their wedding day, being surrounded by their family and friends was paramount. The wanted a relaxed day where everyone could enjoy each other’s company against a backdrop of spectacular ocean views. The Rye Harbor State Park in New Hampshire fit the bill perfectly! This coastal location had everything Karen and Corey wanted and more. We started the day with Karen getting ready gathered together with family and bridesmaids; Corey was likewise preparing for the day ahead with his groomsmen. The bride was gorgeous in her strapless gown and stunning veil while the groom wore a crisp, gray suit and white tie.
The ceremony was seaside and literally surrounded by the ocean. Karen and Corey personalized their wedding vows and as they remember it, “the entire ceremony was such a special and sacred few minutes for us”. Their friends and family watched along as they made their life-long nuptials. Following the ceremony, the wedding party and guests made their way under the white tent to begin celebrating! The tent was soft and romantic full of whites with muted pinks and grays; a relaxed setting that matched the nautical feel. The afternoon was full of heartwarming toasts by loved ones as dinner made way for desserts and dancing. A grand time was truly had by all. We want to congratulate Karen and Corey one more time; Heirloom Pictures loved capturing your wedding day! We are excited to share the highlights from their day.

Sophisticated Summer Wedding at the Four Season’s Boston
Mia and Corbin were married on the 16th of July at St. Augustine’s Parish followed by a lovely reception at the Four Season’s Boston.
The July day began with Mia and Corbin getting ready in each of their parent’s homes with their nearest and dearest before heading off to the wedding ceremony. The couple said their ‘I Do’s” at the same church Mia’s parents were married in years before. They were looking forward to so many special moments but one they both remember fondly was the first moments Mia walks down the aisle. Corbin’s wide smile says it all! After the ceremony, the couple headed off to Boston to the Four Season’s to join their guests for celebrating. Donning Decker t-shirts, this fun loving couple created a reception that was both effortless and laid back. A balance of timeless elegance with full summer blossoms and a sophisticated palette. Dinner and desserts made way for dancing and more dancing where the guests enjoyed the night with full hearts and happy memories.

A Sophisticated Summer Wedding in Downtown Boston’s State Room
Heirloom Pictures recently had the pleasure of capturing Lynne and Josh’s wedding day at Boston’s State Room. The Great Room at the State Room offers unparalleled views showcasing the city Lynne and Josh have come to love. They wanted a celebration that honored traditions and blending of customs in a fresh contemporary way. Beginning the day at the bridal suite at the Langham Hotel, the ladies were energized preparing for the day ahead. Surrounded by love, champagne, and pups, it makes sense that Lynne remembers this as one of her favorite parts of the day. The bride was just lovely in a gorgeous dress with lace and silk paired with a bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids accented with ivy.
The couple created an interfaith ceremony representing the couple’s faiths. They stood under a chuppah detailed with fresh flowers that framed the couple against the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Boston. One of the marvelous things about the Great Room is watching the space “flip” from ceremony to reception. During cocktail hour, the guests peak over as it develops while enjoying good company, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The details of the reception having all the makings of a chic black-tie affair. Lush, full floral centerpieces alternated high and low and popped off sleek, floor- length black linens. The bride used her grandparents cake topper from June 1945 and we love the detail that their wedding invitations were replicas of the bride’s parents and grandparent’s invitations. Lynne and Josh commissioned a painting of their first dance to be painted during the reception – creating a special keepsake. As the sun set, dancing and dessert made for some great moments to capture and a fun way to end the evening. Spectacular views were no match for the love this couple and their ‘world-class bond’ have; Heirloom Pictures was honored to be a part of their wedding day and we hope you enjoy Lynne and Josh’s highlights.
