A Sophisticated Summer Wedding in Downtown Boston’s State Room

Heirloom Pictures recently had the pleasure of capturing Lynne and Josh’s wedding day at Boston’s State Room. The Great Room at the State Room offers unparalleled views showcasing the city Lynne and Josh have come to love. They wanted a celebration that honored traditions and blending of customs in a fresh contemporary way. Beginning the day at the bridal suite at the Langham Hotel, the ladies were energized preparing for the day ahead. Surrounded by love, champagne, and pups, it makes sense that Lynne remembers this as one of her favorite parts of the day. The bride was just lovely in a gorgeous dress with lace and silk paired with a bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids accented with ivy.

The couple created an interfaith ceremony representing the couple’s faiths. They stood under a chuppah detailed with fresh flowers that framed the couple against the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Boston. One of the marvelous things about the Great Room is watching the space “flip” from ceremony to reception. During cocktail hour, the guests peak over as it develops while enjoying good company, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The details of the reception having all the makings of a chic black-tie affair. Lush, full floral centerpieces alternated high and low and popped off sleek, floor- length black linens. The bride used her grandparents cake topper from June 1945 and we love the detail that their wedding invitations were replicas of the bride’s parents and grandparent’s invitations. Lynne and Josh commissioned a painting of their first dance to be painted during the reception – creating a special keepsake. As the sun set, dancing and dessert made for some great moments to capture and a fun way to end the evening. Spectacular views were no match for the love this couple and their ‘world-class bond’ have; Heirloom Pictures was honored to be a part of their wedding day and we hope you enjoy Lynne and Josh’s highlights.
