Michela and John ~ A Gorgeous Boston Wedding at Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library

I was so excited for Michela and John’s wedding for so many reasons. First I was excited to get an email from such a sweet couple having their wedding day at some of my favorite locations in Boston! We started our day at The Fairmont, then the Ceremony was at the incredible Trinity Church and the Reception at the Boston Public Library. Not only that but we got to work with one of our favorite photographers, the wonderful Lisa Rigby. And what was the cherry on top? It was when lovely Michela told me that her family owns Mike’s Bakery in the North End, her dessert spread was going to be incredible and she insisted that I eat a cannoli at the end of the night!

Starting at the Fairmont shooting with Michela and John was one of the funnest part of the day. It was hard to keep the camera still while shooting with the ladies as it seemed every single one of them could give Mrs. Maisel a run for her money, they had me giggling the whole time. So much laughter and fun with these ladies! The gents were having an equally good time as they dressed. It’s oh so wonderful to capture men donning elegant formal wear especially when it includes the timeless look of tuxedos and bow ties. John, or groom, had even taken some time out to pamper himself at the barber before his big day with a straight razor shave and equally sharp haircut. When the couple came together for their first look and some photos they were a glamorous sight to see. They even got a full boatload of quacks from a passing Duck Boat while posing for photos with their sweet pup Liam on St. James ave.

The ceremony at Trinity was in a word epic. The interior of this Romanesque style church, competed in 1877 with its heavy arches, and a massive tower was a grand location for Michela and John’s wedding ceremony. From their large wedding party filling the sanctuary and Michela’s lovely train gliding behind her upon her entrance to the echoing music it was just beautiful from start to finish.

After the ceremony the guests spilled out into Copley Square and crossed to the Boston Public Library for the cocktail hour and reception. With soft lighting highlighting the architecture of the courtyard, the guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres under the smiling face of Bacchante from the center fountain.

Guests then gathered in the Gaustavino room for a cozy dinner. Under vaulted ceilings, surrounded by lush floral decor and glittering place settings, Michela and John and their guests enjoyed an elegant dinner with the bride and groom seated family style with wedding party, close friends and family surrounding them.

Finally, guests were invited up the grand staircase to the Abbey room for dancing. Upon reaching the mezzanine, guests were treating to the incredible dessert spread courtesy of the brides family bakery. After Michela and John opened the dance floor with the first dance, guests flooded into the center of the room for an incredible party which did..not..stop.

Michela and John, thank you so much for having us at your wedding to create your films. It was a joy to be around you, your family and friends on your wedding day. And yes, thank you again, we did grab a few cannolis before we left!

Thank you Lisa Rigby for the beautiful cover photo.
