Simon & Jason ~ An Elegant Wedding Celebration at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA
Simon and Jason met the new old fashioned way, online! The two were both living in DC and for their first date met for drinks at The Hamilton. They jokingly said that because they are both lawyers they weren’t any fun on the date! Having seen them together at their wedding its very clear that is not true at all! 🙂
For their wedding venue, Jason had stumbled upon the Crane Estate and mentioned it to Simon. Simon remembered the Estate as it was very close to where his mother had lived as a child and her grandparents would often take her there to play. When they went for a visit they immediately fell in love with majestic Great House and its beautiful gardens.
We started our day as the grooms were getting ready. With bow ties tied and cuff links linked, the two were ready for their first look. On the shaded front porch of the Tavern on the estate grounds, the two dashing grooms saw each other for the first time in tux and tie. After a very fun photo session in the Italian garden, family and friends gathered on the Grand Allee for the ceremony.
It was the perfect day at the Crane Estate with the sun shining and just the right amount of sea breeze. Jason and Simon were especially excited about the floral design for their wedding. The ceremony arbor was adorned with ivory roses and sprigs or blue blooms to match the clear summer sky. With their nearest and dearest gathered, the two grooms approached, said their vows, broke the ceremonial glass together and then sealed their marriage with a kiss.
Next was onto the cocktail hour and reception. Our grooms were especially moved by the loving toasts given by their family and friends. As dinner was served, the sun went down and it was time for the first dance. Guests gathered on the terrace and surrounded Simon and Jason as they had their first dance as a married couple. The dance floor was then opened and guests crowded in for a lively hora and partied into the night!
