Alisan and Mark ~ A Joyful and Elegant Wedding at the Boston Public Library

Alisan and Mark were married at the incomparable Boston Public Library in Copley Square. This epic setting was perfect for a wedding that was eight years in the making! These two driven, generous and hardworking world travelers might have taken their time to finally get to this day but as was mentioned by their parents in the reception toasts, everybody seemed to know they were perfect for each other even before they did!

We started the day with our bride and groom as they prepared at the Fairmont Hotel, just across the street from the Library. The ladies were getting their hair and makeup done and the room buzzed with an excited electricity. Lots of laughing and smiles and a champagne toasts as Alisan then went to dress with her mother and maid of honor. We met Mark with his brother and best man as he assembled himself into his suit and double checked the rings. Later, the groom and his men were looking dapper as the straightened bow ties and the room was filled with hearty laughter. Once Alisan’s petal soft dress was on, it was time for the first look.

With the wind blowing and the traffic pulsing, Alisan and Mark had their first look. How magical this moment can be, everything seems to slow down as the bride approaches and the groom slowly spins to see his bride for the first time. The day had already seen many warm and affectionate moments with family and friends, it was no wonder the first look between Alisan and Mark included laughter, surprise, tenderness and some happy tears.

For the wedding ceremony, Alisan and Mark had selected the Boston Public Library for its elegant courtyard garden. Indeed the Renaissance Revival style of this building was a romantic backdrop for Alisan and Mark to tie the knot. Blessed with the perfect weather, the two stood under the Chuppah decorated with lush pink florals and surrounded by their family and friends. Eight years of two universes rotating sometimes in two different cities, finally coming fully into each others orbit as husband and wife, Mazel Tov!

After a courtyard cocktail hour the guests climbed the majestic marble staircase to enjoy the reception in the incredible Bates Hall. After surprising their guests with a choreographed first dance, the new Mr. and Mrs. settled into loving toasts from their parents, best man and maid of honor. One highlight of the reception was the blessing of the bread, HaMotzi, just before dinner began. What a wonderful moment for all to have Mark’s 99 year old Grandfather cutting the bread and blessing the wedding feast.

The evening continued in the ornate Abby Room with dancing and even some performances from the groom and his father and brother! After dancing with their parents, Alisan and Mark were lifted high above their guests on chairs for the Hora. The room spun and swirled and clapped with many elbows and hands joined while the band played and the party and dancing continued into the night.

Alisan and Mark, thank you for making us part of your day. Being with you, your family and friends and your collective warmth and joy was a pleasure. Most of all we love how absolutely FUN your whole day was! We hope you enjoy reliving your day through your wedding films!
